As a Mature-Age student planning on returning to the workforce, I was seeking a course that would not only teach me office skills, but give me the confidence to use them in a work environment. The Pathways to Office Employment has done both. I was able to learn the content at a comfortable pace and am now at a stage where I finally believe I can choose the job that’s right for me.

After working for 6 years, the Flying Start program offered me exactly what I wanted – a wide range of courses focused on preparing me for Year 12 studies. The lecturers here are fantastic, with their priority on your success rather than a daily task. The mature environment has helped me focus on my studies with fellow students all striving toward the same goal.

International Students
Canning College has hosted international students since 1982 and specialises in providing university entry programs including:
- Western Australian Universities’ Foundation Program
- Year 12 (TEE)
- Diploma of Commerce (leading to second year entry in Bachelor of Commerce courses at The University of Western Australia or Curtin University of Technology)

Canning College also offers a variety of Bridging courses (academic and English language upgrading) to support the main courses of study.
The Flying Start – English Second Language program has given me a valuable opportunity to learn to communicate in English effectively, not only with Australians but also with people from non-English speaking backgrounds. I have found the Flying Start – English Second Language program to be very instructive and also a lot of fun.
