Hughes Primary is a community school with a friendly, open atmosphere. It caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 in very small classes. We are very proud of our strong tradition of providing excellent education programs that yield proven results in a climate of cultural harmony, where each child is valued as an individual.

Hughes Primary has a culturally diverse population which includes children whose Australian ancestry spans seven generations and children who have only recently arrived in Australia from all corners of the world.

Between them, the children of the Hughes campus speak over forty languages, including English, and practice Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu and Jewish faiths.

Hughes plays a vital role in preparing migrant children for Australian schooling.
