KING'S BAPTIST GRAMMAR SCHOOL

King's. Vision of Faith.

Principal: Mr Russell Eley

King’s is an R-12 Christian School providing excellence in education in a Christian community.

There are few things more important to you as a parent than your child’s education.  It plays a pivotal role in shaping who your child becomes and how they live their life.  We thank you for considering King’s Baptist Grammar School.

With an amazing reputation for academic, performing arts opportunities and sporting achievements, King’s Baptist Grammar School also prides itself in meeting the needs of its students and leading the way in delivering relevant, up to date educational programs.

Junior School  - R – 5

Young people learn best when they are in an environment which is stimulating, supportive and challenging, where students are resilient and are given the opportunity to collaborate well with others. This is the type of learning environment that we create at King’s.

The core curriculum is enriched by specialist teachers in Languages, Visual Art, Music, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education and Library (Research Based Learning). Our wide range of curricular opportunities enables students to reach their potential academically, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.

Middle School  - Years 6 -9

Years 6 - 9 The King’s Middle School has been specifically designed to cater for the needs of adolescent children. It allows students to gradually learn the skills and knowledge required to successfully meet the rigorous demands of Senior Schooling as well as life beyond school, in a warm, caring and engaging environment.

Unlike many other traditional Primary Schools, King’s Year 6 students have a unique opportunity via immediate access to specialist facilities and staff (in particular Science, Mathematics, Languages, Design and Technology Studies, Home Economics and Art). Specialisation and rigor is necessary at this time to ensure students remain actively engaged in learning throughout their adolescent years. Whilst subject specific rigor is introduced, every attempt is made to ensure students continue to see the interrelation between all learning areas.

Senior School – Years 9 -12

In the Senior School, King’s students are supported to optimise their academic, technical, sporting, artistic and spiritual growth. A range of semesterised subjects are delivered by experienced and qualified Teachers in excellent facilities and students are nurtured in a caring and structured Pastoral Care environment. At Year 10, all students study Mathematics, Science, English, Physical Education, History and Faith Studies. Studying their Personal Learning Plan (PLP) means they commence Stage 1 of their SACE. In addition, students choose elective subjects from the Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, Music), Visual Arts, History, Information Technology, Home Economics, Design and Technology (Wood Technology or Automotive Studies), Outdoor Education and Languages (either German or Japanese). There is provision for students to study Mathematics and other subjects, as demand and resources permit, at Stage 1 level. The schools’ camp program continues with a bushwalk in the Flinders Ranges.
