This course provides a broad foundation for professional nursing practice and prepares students to practise as registered nurses.

Graduates will be able to meet the nursing needs of people of all ages and have the ability to practise safely and with sensitivity in any area of nursing.

Clinical nursing practice is an essential component throughout the course, enabling students to apply knowledge and skills from the theoretical subjects to the nursing care of individuals, families and groups in hospitals and community settings in the ACT and surrounding districts.

Only students admitted to this course will be able to undertake those subjects involving clinical practice.

The School offers an undergraduate degree in nursing. Postgraduate studies are available in Midwifery, Critical Care Nursing, Paediatric and Child Health, Neonatal Nursing and Perioperative Nursing.

A Master in Advanced Nursing Practice (coursework), Master of Nursing (research) and PhD programs are also offered.
