Sunnybank High is a coeducational school, which offers secondary education programs from Year 8 to Year 12. It opened at a time when secondary school education was expanding throughout Queensland and in Brisbane in particular, and has continued to provide a flexible curriculum which has adapted to the changing needs of individual students.

Students at Sunnybank have access to a wide range of activities which support their classroom activities. We encourage students to participate fully in school life, as recent research shows that broader student participation supports student achievement success. Activities include our Music program, a highly successful Debating and Public Speaking program, Student Council and Musical productions.

Through our Intensive English Language Centre and our International Student Program we support both students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds. Recognising and embracing diversity is a proud part of traditions at Sunnybank State High.
