TUDOR HOUSE PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Headmaster: Mr David Musgrove  (Bed Dip  Teach)

Tudor House Preparatory School offers an holistic education committed to academic excellence, making learning an adventure. We care for day students Transition to Year 6, and boarding Years 5 and 6 (Yr 3-4 under special circumstances). The campus is on 70 hectare of boys’ wonderland.

Tudor House Preparatory School is a little boy’s paradise which blends adventure with academic excellence. A primary school where learning is an adventure because we know that the primary years are of primary importance, and boys learn differently.

At Tudor House we educate boys in the best of preparatory school models: we offer specialist teaching in English, Maths, Science, History and Geography, as well as the other key specialist areas.  Tudor House is where academic life, outdoor education, sports, community, nutrition and good dining, woodwork, creative arts and more sit as equals and are enhanced by each other. They are pieces of a jigsaw rather than rivals for time, allowing our boys the choices to experience a wealth of diversity to develop their individual talents and personalities. And it means boys can be individuals.

We teach boys respect, responsibility and relationships.  And we do this in the context of tradition: with over 115 years educating boys we know how to ensure our students thrive academically, socially, emotionally, creatively and physically. We want our boys to love learning, and to love coming to school every day.

Our value-add is clear - highlighted in the academic growth of our boys in regular assessments, which we would be proud to share with you. We specialise in boys’ education and in so doing address head-on the global concerns relating to the falling standards associated with being a boy in today’s schools.

As a stand-alone primary school with boarding in Years 5 and 6 (Yrs3-4 under special circumstances), we give our boys a sense of leadership at a formative age, allowing them a rite of passage into their secondary schools, shielded with confidence, a network of mates and an openness to new opportunities.

70 hectares of rolling farmland provides boys with wonderful opportunities to roam, explore creeks and dams, build cubbies, ride bikes, to camp and appreciate the beauty of the Australian countryside. In today's world there is little opportunity for boys to be able to freely play but at Tudor House this luxury is granted with trust and additional time.
At Tudor House the boys have the opportunity to explore with friends, to accept challenges, to make mistakes and learn from actively participating on our pastures.  We have purposefully created two recess breaks a day to section the core subjects of Maths and English.

We have our unique Playground Licence system, which allows boys the opportunity to explore areas that are suited to their age and level of responsibility.  Ask any boy what makes Tudor special and they will chorus – Freedom.  Our formula is a little more considered.  We grant freedom because boys have earned our trust.  Boys earn our trust because they have been responsible.  The Playground Licence System rewards boys with greater space for exploration but also restricts as a consequence of poor choices.

At Tudor House we focus on academic success aligned with social, emotional, spiritual, creative and physical well-being. We develop specific programs to maximise our influence on all our young boys' minds, hearts and hands. What we offer is unique and cannot be matched in its entirety by any other primary school.
