I am worried about the stress on my kids trying to earn good marks.  I do everything possible to help them, and to give them the advantage by arranging extra tutoring.  Are there any other kids doing their final exams who are a bit strung out at the moment?  Can you give me some tips on how to relax my two children going thru this?  What are your concerns?  Such a hard time isnt it? Look forward to hearing some feedback.

I have no advice but only to say that I am in the same boat.  I am also a worried parent. My daughter starts Yr 11 this year and the onslaught that will follow worries me no end.

She did her year 10 last year.  I hated seeing her so snowed under with all the assignments and tasks that they were burdened with. Let's not forget their extra curriculum activities.

I would welcome any advice from the experts that have already been through it and come out unscathed at the other end.

Hi guys!

I finished my HSC in 2002 and I found that the best way to manage stress throughout the year is with planning.

Talk to your kids early in the year and see if they need extra help with tutoring and study. Don't leave it to the last minute.

I also found that knowing that what happens in year 11 and 12 isn't going to affect the rest of your life dramatically. There are other ways to get a career beyond attending university!

Planning and talking with your kids and agreeing on a realistic goal at the beginning of the long haul can really help alleviate stress - for both of you!
