I am the mother of a 13 year old boy who has recently found himself in trouble with the law due to behavioural issues. He is continually suspended from school as he knows if he gets suspended he gets out of schooling. The discipline he receives is a multitude of things including removing privileges and extra chores which neither seem to bother him in the slightest.
We live in a small country town in WA 1000kms from Darwin with a population of approximately 700. This doesn't assist with his behaviour as you could imagine with very little entertainment for children.
I have continued over the past 2-3 weeks to ring every known helpline and a hand full of gov departments with little to no assistance as there is nothing available in WA for our situation.
My next option is to remove him from this town in some way. I have approached boarding schools in Darwin (as we are moving there end of the year) as to make the schools aware of the behavioural issues we are dealing with I inform them of this. At the moment most of these schools are fully booked another I am waiting on is considering whether they should take him on, (I understand this).
I am wondering if anyone knows of a boarding type school who deal with troubled youth?
Another option is to get him out on to a station of sorts or a commercial fishing boat (as he loves fishing), but I don't know if there are any willing to take on  troubled youth and then I would have to deal with the educational issues.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I am having the same problem with my 13 year old daughter and need help too but not having much luck. The other night when I was at the cop shop again because of her the cop told me of the boarding school in Warwick Qld that fixed up her friends daughter that was even vioilent with her mother. Apparently she turned out incredibly well as they take on troubled teens and link them farm animals like horses for starters. I'm getting an info pack from them and will ring them Monday to find out exactly as my daughter is missing again and on her 3rd suspension in the last 5 weeks. Let me know if you have any luck too. Thanks.

Hi to both of you,

Maybe you have to make extra effort on disciplining your children so that they would not make any trouble again in the future.. And try checking this on... I hope it can help...

Hello,

I read your post thoroughly and I guess you have a serious problem.

I hope you're not lacking of giving attention to your kid, sometimes this are the main causes of it.

Why won't you give some time or a year on putting a full time on him and try to understand his needs, sometimes teenager are mostly wanting to much attention that's why a lot of times they do things no one understands.
