ST PAUL'S GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Principal: Mr Ian Wake

St Paul’s Grammar School is uniquely placed to deliver a world-class education.

From the very start, Pre-K students at St Paul’s encounter a balanced approach to learning: embracing technology, languages and the arts in our unique and serene setting, right through to Year 12.

Learning takes place in our exceptional facilities, located amidst native gardens and cultivated grounds. Our programmes combine the best of traditional methodology with cutting-edge contemporary practice, consistently achieving outstanding results.

Academically, St Paul’s is distinctive in implementing both the NSW BOSTES and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. In Senior Secondary school, students choose either the IB Diploma or HSC, consistently achieving outstanding results with approximately a quarter of graduating students achieving ATARS above 90. In 2014, two of our students achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95 and were awarded the Australian Student Prize.

The Middle School offers both the NSW Board of Studies curriculum, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), leading to the IB MYP Certificate.  By the end of Year 10, then, students can be double credentialed, having received both certificates. We believe that this approach adds a richness to our middle school learning outcomes, and best prepares our students for the challenges of Senior School.

The Junior School caters for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Combining key facets of the BOSTES and IB PYP programmes for teaching and learning, we strive to provide multiple avenues for our students to engage and explore the world. In cooperation with the parent community and a specifically qualified school counsellor, the school places strong emphasis on the nurture and safety of all students, within a caring Christian context. All students in the Junior School study Mandarin Chinese, which promotes the school’s inter-cultural and international connectedness. Before and After School Care is available for children attending from Pre K to Year 6.

At St Paul’s we seek to provide a positive, contemporary and rigorous learning environment. All high school students are involved in the ‘one to one’ laptop program, which enables collaborative and vibrant student learning. Students access our wireless network to use our online learning system my.stpauls.
Our teaching philosophy seeks to consciously engage each student with teaching and learning strategies that address the individual, developing strengths and providing support in any areas that are challenging

Co-curricular options at St Paul’s are incorporated into the Music, Dance and Sports Academies, offering a comprehensive range of opportunities for pursuing interests, towards excellence. The Sports Academy offers a wide variety of sporting options, both individual and team-based, as well as high level training for elite sportsmen and women. Outdoor education commences from Junior school and continues throughout – including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme from Years 9-12. St Paul’s is also home to a Rural Fire Service Cadet unit, open to student membership.  Arts students choose from a wealth of opportunity in music, dance and drama ensembles, musicals, festivals and tours, camps and regular exhibitions.

Our approach to your child’s education is holistic, with equal regard to academic, co-curricular and personal growth, embedded within a framework of Christian service.
