Modern chemistry is a diverse and expanding science. Recent Nobel prizes in Chemistry have been awarded for research in protein degradation, channels in cell membranes, methods for analysis of large molecules, and the discovery of conducting polymers.

Chemistry at UNSW is involved in research and teaching in nanotechnology, surfaces and new materials, and medicinal & biological chemistry. We have recently moved into new laboratories in a purpose-built new building, and into new office and teaching spaces. It is an exciting time for the School and we invite you to join us.
