Yirara College is a culturally diverse community, that strives to develop living skills and world views that enable people to respect and live out their Christian Faith and cultural identities.

The educational program of Yirara College consists of two parts:

An academic program which is carried out in the day school; and
The boarding program which is carried out predominantly after school hours.

The boarding program is an integral part of the complete educational program of a cross-cultural school like Yirara. Indeed, it would be accurate to say that the success of the academic program depends largely on the success of the boarding program because this program addresses the issues of western social/cultural understandings upon which the academic program is based, therefore affecting student retention.
