Belconnen High School is located in Murranji Street Hawker and caters for students in Years 7 to 10. The priority enrolment areas are Hawker, Florey, Scullin, Page and Weetangera. There is a significant out-of-area enrolment percentage. At the February 2004 census, the student population numbered approximately 750.

Students engage in a comprehensive curriculum based on the eight Key Learning Areas. They participate in a range of cultural, sporting and social activities as well as experiencing community involvement through fundraising for charity and work experience.
