Lowanna College is committed to the pursuit of excellence within a caring environment. Excellence is defined as the pursuit of personal best through a broad education, delivery of improved teaching through a whole school professional development plan and the pursuit of teaching and learning programs which maximise individual development. To this end, the College has concentrated on improved mixed ability teaching, extensive use of learning technologies and maximising provision of curriculum choice in Years 9 – 12.

The building program has provided the College with state-of-the-art facilities. These include a sophisticated computer network which provides first-rate resources for students and staff. Approximately 600 data points have been installed in the buildings to allow wide access to the computer network. A 580 seat auditorium supports a strong performing arts program and a double gymnasium with sprung floor enhances the Exemplary Physical Education and Sports program. These facilities not only benefit Lowanna students but are made readily available to the wider community.
