Mackay North State High School is located in North Mackay and was opened in 1964. The students attending MNSHS are predominantly from North Mackay, Northview, Glenella, Beaconsfield, Slade Point, Seaforth, and Farleigh. and the Northern Beaches centres of Bucasia and Eimeo.

The school supports Excellence Programs in Art, Music and Golf. Mackay North State High School is particularly noted for the Performing Arts and sporting achievements in the local area and the region.
