Wellington Point State High School is a State High School located on the corner of Badgen and Birkdale roads in the Redland Shire which is located a short 25 minute drive from the Brisbane CBD.

Wellington Point SHS offers a comprehensive range of sporting, creative arts, performing arts, technology, cultural, citizenship and academic extra-curricula activities throughout the year. These activities provide all students with avenues to learn about themselves and the real world in a variety of settings. In addition, the school offers a number of lunchtime activities run by the Student Council and our School Chaplain which develop camaraderie between teachers and students, team and house spirit and a positive school climate.

The school offers an extensive range of study areas that allow students to engage in a broad based general education with opportunities to specialise in the final two (2) years of school. Initially, students in Year 8 are enrolled in a mix of subjects that cover the ‘core’ subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Study of Society and Environment and Health and Physical Education in addition to a rotation of ‘electives’ including, Technology ( Shop A – Woodwork and plastics, Shop B – Metals and electronics, Graphics, Food Studies, Information Communication Technologies and Business Studies), The Arts ( Art, Music, Drama and Dance), LOTE ( Japanese ) and Science and Technology. Having transitioned into high school, students then choose two (2) of these electives to combine with their core subjects for a further two (2) years of study for Years 9 and 10.
