Established in 1998, this school has quickly established a reputation for providing high quality public education. In order to maximise learning opportunities for all students, a range of innovative academic, cultural and sporting programs have been designed to assist all students to reach their potential. Situated on a 10 hectare native bushland setting, the natural beauty of local flora and fauna make the school surrounds an ideal location for environmental studies.

Nyanda State High School recognizes the importance of providing students with a balanced education. Students can choose to involve themselves in extra curricula activities including Drama, Music, Recreation, Service and Sport. Academic offerings are complimented by awareness raising and skilling for relevant real life issues and situations.

State of the art computer facilities are available to support teaching and learning outcomes and all buildings are linked by fibre optic cabling to maximize computer use for communications and administrative purposes. Sporting facilities are excellent and include a covered basketball court, tennis and volleyball courts, cricket nets and a full size oval. The school accesses a second oval through a joint project with the Brisbane City Council.
