The Faculty of Education - A Tradition of Excellence

Teaching in Education began in 1916, three years after the foundation of the University of Western Australia.

First offered within the Faculty of Arts, education studies proved popular with UWA students who wished to enter the teaching profession after completing their degree, and with the students at the then Claremont Teachers' College.

This commitment to the preparation of well-educated as well as well-trained teachers has been an enduring feature of UWA's long involvement with education in Western Australia.
